Green Teacher is a non-profit organization promoting environmental and global education, which publishes Green Teacher, a quarterly magazine full of teaching ideas from successful “green” educators. Each issue of Green Teacher offers perspectives on the role of education in creating a sustainable future, practical cross-curricular activities for various grade levels, and reviews of the latest environmental teaching resources. Features in the magazine provide complete hands-on lesson plans for teachers to use with students, or present learning activities that individual teachers can adapt for their own classes’ purposes.
Green Teacher also publishes a number of curriculum books: the Teaching Green series featuring articles on a number of environmental and global education topics (The Elementary Years for grades K-5; The Middle Years for grades 6-8; and The High School Years for grades 9-12);and two focused subject area books, with articles and activities for all grade levels: Greening School Grounds: Creating Habitats for Learning, and Teaching About Climate Change: Cool Schools Tackle Global Warming.
